History
Shirley Bailey established Bow-Wow! Barbers in 1979 after attending the All Breed Grooming School and apprenticing with several grooming shops in the Dallas, Texas area. The first home for Bow-Wow! Barbers was located in Dallas at Preston Road and Forest Lane where it stayed for five years. Shirley then moved to Forest Lane and Marsh Lane for five years.

In 1991 Bow-Wow! Barbers moved to Lancaster, Texas where it remained for twelve years. Now Bow-Wow! Barbers has found its home in Waxahachie, Texas and we could not be happier. Many new friends have been made and many old friends have made the move with us. Shirley has maintained and developed a thriving salon by her dedication to her animals, clients and constant education. Shirley and her employees attend grooming/styling seminars and competitions put on by the International Society of Canine Cosmetology and the National Dog Groomers Association of America to remain on the “cutting” edge of pet styling techniques and dermatological issues.

Dedication, love for animals and respect for her clientele are the main ingredients in the success of Bow-Wow! Barbers. Shirley has earned the love and respect of her employees, clients, animals and peers by her commitment and compassion for them all. We are very proud to volunteer our services to the Ellis County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and we encourage our community to support them in every way possible.
